Day 15 May 16
Day 15 May 16
It is hard to believe we are into the start of our third week already
We could not have asked for better weather and the team is doing great enjoying every day
We left Hornillos del Camino at 7:30am for our 19 km walk under clear skies and cooler temps realizing it will warm up in a few hours
We are now 15 for 15 no rain
As we left town it was interesting to see a number of homes ?? dug into the hillside. We would label such as energy efficient homes yet they have been there for many years. As
we walk the Camino it is very interesting to see the varied Cross designs. the second one had a plaque which read “Every farewell is a birth to a new memory”.
The figurine is of St Bridget of Sweden who born into nobility, given off in marriage at an early age - had children - and she along with her husband - Walking the Camino and return.
Soon after her husband dies and she entered a convent and for her dedication and liturgy writings she is forever honoured.
The poppies are in full bloom here and we all took a moment to sit to have pictures taken
As for the castle we will wait till others who decide take on the climb to share their experiences
We had a great day And we are now in a great town of Castrojriz
Tomorrow we are off to Fromista which is 25 km trek
Till then
Buen Camino
